The organ of the parish church of Sankt Othmar in Mödling was built at the end of the seventeenth century. The original maker is unknown. Franz Xaver Christmann expanded it in 1777 with a Rückpositiv, and he also enlarged the main work and the pedal. The instrument was converted in 1928/1929 by Kauffmann. The positive was taken out of use, while a new Chororgel was installed in the main organ case. Kauffmann used a lot of pipework from the old Rückpositiv for this. In 1963 the Walcker company renovated the organ. But eventually it was decided in 1983 to have a completely new organ built by the Walcker-Mayer company. It was dedicated on January 8, 1984. In 2001, the builders carried out an overhaul. The Rankett 16' of the Schwellwerk was replaced by an Oboe 8' on this occasion.
