The organ of the Saint George's Ebenezer Primitive Methodist Church in Methuen was originally built as an exhibition organ for the James E. Treat & Co. company, organ builders in Methuen. It was set up at the Old South Meeting House in Boston. In 1890 it was given a place in the organ workshop, where it was also used as a demonstration model. Edward F. Searles decided in 1904 to have a church built in which the organ could be placed. The church was designed by Henry Vaughn and was dedicated in 1906. In 1948 Skinner electrified the instrument and installed a new console, but retaining the original register pullers. They removed the Cornpean and the Mixture. The Andover company restored the organ in 1963.
