1757 Gebrüder Stumm  orgue neuf
1958 Oberlinger Orgelbau  restauration
2006 Rainer Müller  reconstruction

  • In July 1754, the Stumm brothers were commissioned to build a one-manual organ for the monastery church in Trier. The organ had seventeen stops. The organ was dedicated in 1757. In the nineteenth century the disposition was modified to a more romantic style.
  • The Oberlinger company restored the work in 1957, adding an independent pedal and a second manual on the advice of Paul Schuh, organist of the Trierer Domkirche. The original specification of the first manual has been completely reconstructed, while the new manual is designed as a typical Stumm Echowerk. Pedal and keyboard compass have been increased during the restoration. Consultant during the entire restoration was Franz Bösken. On March 23, 1958 the organ was put back into use.
  • In 2005 it was decided to have the organ restored to its original state. This work has been carried out in 2006 by Rainer Müller.
