The organ contains older material: Pipes from 1964 by Mander Organs
In 1964 Noel Mander built an organ for the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Portsmouth. This organ was demolished in 2001, after which David Wells relocated the T.C. Lewis organ from Christ Church in Bishopswearmouth. Some of Mander's ranks were installed in the instrument. Wells also made a new console and some new stops were installed. The organ was completed in 2002.
