In 1991, Leawood Parish Church purchased a second-hand organ through the Organ Clearing House. This organ was built in 1917 by the firm of Hook & Hastings for the Thirteenth Church of Christ Scientist in Chicago, Illinois as opus number 2382. It was rebuilt by the firm of Aeolian-Skinner in 1946 (opus 1086). In the autumn of 1991, this church closed its doors and the organ was offered for sale. After the purchase, the parish had the instrument rebuilt by the Quimby company and placed in the church. It was officially inaugurated on June 27, 1993 with a concert by Kevin Kissinger.
