- In 1764 Johann Daniel Ranft built an organ for the village church of Burkhardswalde. He also created the altar of the church. The organ replaced a small instrument from 1702. In 1886 and 1887 Carl Eduard Jehmlich overhauled the organ. The pedal's Posaunenbass was replaced by an Octavbass 8', and the Unda Maris of the Oberwerk by a Fugara 8'. The pitch was raised from a' = 415 Hz to 435 Hz. The top two choruses of the Mixtur (1/2' and 1') have been removed, but this may also have been done in 1914, when Jehmlich worked on the organ again. The front pipes were requisitioned in 1917 and replaced by zinc ones.
- In 1978 the organ was completely restored by Wilhelm Rühle & Sohn. The original disposition has been completely reconstructed, as have the missing choirs of the Mixtur.
