1861 George Stevens & Co.  new organ
1983 Dana Hull  restoration

  • In 1861 the firm George Stevens & Co. built an organ for the Congregational Church in Cumberland. It is a two-manual organ with seventeen stops. In the beginning of the twentieth century, the Hautboy was replaced by a Voix Celeste.
  • The instrument was restored by Dana Hull in 1983. During this restoration some modifcations were carried out. The Voix Celeste was replaced with a Hautboy, manufactured by George Stevens in 1848. The Viol de Gamba 8' (bass) of Swell was replaced with a Principal 4' (bass), that was taken from an organ in Utica. On Great there was one spare slide. A new Cornet 2-3 ranks was installed here.
