- In 1889 the Woodberry & Harris firm built a new organ for the First Universalist Church in Melrose, Massachusetts. In 1978 the branch of this church merged with the First Unitarian Church in Malden, Massachusetts, and their meetinghouse was no longer used. Manuel Rosales overhauled the organ and transferred it to the Avalon Community Church on Santa Catalina Island, off the coast of Los Angeles, California. It was dedicated here in the late summer of 1978.
- At the beginning of 1995 this church offered the organ for sale again. It was now transferred by Mike Austin to the First United Lutheran Church in San Francisco. In this church there was an electro-pneumatic organ from 1950, but it was in a bad condition. In the summer of 1995 the 'new' organ was built, and on October 15th 1995 it was officially opened with a concert by Charles Rus.
