Johann Ignaz Egedacher completed an extraordinarily expensive organ for the monastery church in Zwettl in 1731. The instrument has a curious structure. In the main case only the pedal is placed, while the rest of the instrument is in the case on the gallery. The organ has been modified a lot over time, but in 1983 Hradetzky reconstructed the original stop list. Jürgen Ahrend completed this reconstruction in 1991 with a compete reverberation and restoration of the mechanical action.
