The organ contains older material: Organ case from 1691 by Builder unknown
In 1691 an unknown builder built an organ in the abbey church Saint-Pierre des Dames-Chanoinesses in Remiremont. Nicolas Lété transferred the instrument to Bar-sur-Aube in the years 1842-1845. The instrument was modified and extended by him. Some old registers have been preserved, including the Voix Humaine. The rebuilt was necessary, as more than half of the pipework had disappeared during the Revolution. Lété made a separate case for the swell, which was fitted with a non-speaking facade of cheap pipes. In 1980 Haerpfer restored the organ. The original specification was reconstructed, and the new pipework was made according to Lété's ranks in other organs.
