- The large organ in the Église Saint Paul in Strasbourg was built by the Walcker company with all the characteristics of their organs from the construction period: high pressure stops, roll swell, free-swing reeds, etc. It was dedicated on 9 May 1897. Already in 1898, Walcker expanded the organ with a few new stops. In 1907 the organ was rebuilt by Dalstein & Haerpfer. In 1912, the Cavaillé-Coll company added some ranks. The facade pipes were advanced in 1917. These were replaced in 1918 by zinc copies.
- According to a plan of the church organist, Émile Rupp (1872-1948), one of the leaders of the organ reform, the instrument was completely converted in 1934 by the Cavaillé-Coll-Mutin company of Paris. It was then given the current stop list, a freestanding electric console and little of the specific Walcker characteristics remained. Alfred Kern started a new renovation in 1958. A new console was placed and 21 stops would be replaced. Ultimately, this did not continue, but the stops in question were no longer usable. Walcker restored the organ in 1993 and reconstructed the situation in 1934.
