  • The organ of the Cathédrale in Malmédy was originally built in the years 1780-1783 by Matthieu Graindorgue, with 39 stops and three manuals. The church was an Abbey Church in those days. When the monastry was closed the organ was dismantled and stored in 1808 by François-Joseph Rifflart. Arnold Graindorge reinstalled it in the church in 1819, when the building became a parish church.
  • In the 19th century the organ was maintained and preserved until 1895 in its original state. Restorations were carried out in 1828 by Wilhelm Korfmacher and in 1857 by the Gebr. Müller. But in 1895 a new organ was built for the church in the cases of Graindorge by the Stahlhuth company. This organ had two manuals and 34 stops. The positive was not used anymore, but remained empty. After plans of Hans Klotz a new organ was constructed again in 1976-1979 by Aloïs and Aldbric Thunus. On October 14, 1979, the organ was dedicated. Hans Klotz played the inauguration concert.
