Saint James United Methodist Church in Central City, Colorado, was opened in 1872. In the first years a reed organ was used for accompaniment. In 1899 a pipe organ was ordered by J.W. Steere & Sons, that was installed in October 1899. The dedication took place on November 2nd, 1899. The organ had a water motor. The instrument has never been changed, and is still in its original condition.
