The organ contains older material: Organ case from 1620 by Jean Girardet
The organ in the Cathedral of Tours was built in 1995-1996 by the Kern firm. The organ case dates from 1620 and was made by Jean Girardet. Parts even go back to 1521. The new organ was inaugurated on October 17, 1996 with a concert by Philippe Lefebvre and Olivier Vernet.
