- In 2010/2011, the Reil company built a study copy of the Peter Gerritz organ of the Nicolai Church in Utrecht for the Orgelpark in Amsterdam. It was playable in April 2011. It was initially placed for study purposes in the Nicolai Church in Utrecht on a new balcony on the north wall of the nave, near the transition to the choir.
- The organ was transferred to the Orgelpark in Amsterdam in 2012, where it was officially put into use on April 21, 2012 and was given the name Van Straten organ. The bellows chair stayed in Utrecht and will be used during the reconstruction of the original Peter Gerritz organ, in case this organ will be rebuilt in Utrecht. In the Orgelpark, the Van Straten organ was installed with a number of blacksmith's bellows, which are directly connected to the windchest. The organ was fitted with shutters, which were painted by Kik Zeiler.
- Wim Diepenhorst (organ), Matthias Havinga (organ), Hester Groenleer (recorder) and Wouter Snoei (electronics) performed new music at the opening recital. Snoei composed the “Gijsbrecht Royé” for organ and electronics especially for the Van Straten Organ. Furthermore, a new work for the Van Straten Organ and recorder was premiered.
