- The Gereformeerde Kerk (Reformed Church) in Garrelsweer opened in 1908. A pipe organ was installed in 1912 by Marten Eertman. He constructed the instrument using old wind chests, pipes and mechanics from German suppliers. The organ was put into use on October 8, 1912.
- In 1991, Sicco Steendam overhauled the mechanisms, the organ case, the wind supply and the wind chests. After this he placed partly new pipes, partly existing pipes, originating from the demolished organ of the Gereformeerde Kerk (Vrijgemaakt) in Hoogeveen, built in 1933 by J.H. van de Brink. Steendam did reconstruct the original free combination mechanism, which is characteristic of Eertman's organs. On April 12, 1991 the organ was put back into use. It was played on this occasion by the organists of the church, F. Reitsma and J. Zuidhof. On April 13, Kees Steketee played the official inauguration concert.
- In 1999 the organ suffered water damage. This damage was then repaired by Steendam. In 2007 the Trumpet was overhauled by Steendam. The organ case has been repainted in red in 2014.
