The Reformed Church of Midwoud burned down completely in 1984. The Ypma organ was lost. After rebuilding of the church in a simplified form, the Reil firm installed a small organ without a pedal. This organ was originally built for the Gereformeerde Kerk (Vrijgemaakt) in Leek, where it was placed in 1976. It was assembled by an employee of the firm Reil using old pipes from an organ coming from Arnhem. In 1983 Mr. Hof from Leek acquired the organ. It was purchased in 1987 for the church in Midwoud. The organ was put into use on January 24, 1988.
