In 1895, the Remonstrant Church in Rotterdam, an old hidden church, had to be demolished due to expansion of the stock exchange building. A new church was built on the Westersingel, designed by Henri Evers and J.P. Stick Wzn. The church was inaugurated in 1897. The new organ, built by Steenkuyl and Recourt, was put into use on August 31, 1898. The organ had a mechanical tracture, and a barker machine for the main work.
Ernst Leeflang worked on the instrument in 1948. In particular in the swell work, a number of new stops were installed on a new pneumatic chest. The Van den Heuvel company restored the organ in 1978. The Mixture was reconstructed.
In 2015, the company Pels & Van Leeuwen started a restoration, in which the original state was largely restored. Henk Verhoef was the consultant for the work, that has been completed in 2019.
