- The organ in the church of the Gereformeerde Gemeente in Moerkapelle was originally built for the Funenkerk, Zeeburgerstraat 16 in Amsterdam. It was designed by Pieter Flaes, but he died before the construction actually started. Steenkuyl finished the instrument according to the Flaes concept. It was completed in 1890 and commissioned on December 14, 1890. It had thirteen stops on two manuals, with pulldown pedals. Around 1923 the organ was overhauled by P.C. Bik, who enlarged it with three new stops.
- The organ was renovated in 1922/1923 by Arie Bik. It was expanded from eleven to fifteen stops. The Salicional 8' was altered into a Vox Celeste. On July 26, 1923, the organ could be taken in use again. In 1937 Arie Bik from Amsterdam carried out a new revision. The Salicional has been restored, and the Trumpet has been replaced by a new one. A Gemshoorn 4' has been added to the main work, and a new Mixtuur IV has been installed. The old Mixture III (C-b°) was removed. Finally, the bellows were repaired, the footpumping device was removed and a new wind blower was installed.
- The Funenkerk was closed in 1974, and the organ was restored by Fonteijn & Gaal in 1974/1975 and transferred to the Moerkapelle. Consultant was J.A.H. Verhoef, organist of the Hoflaankerk in Rotterdam. The previous organ of the church in Moerkapelle was sold to the Gereformeerde Gemeente in Mijdrecht. On advice of Hans van Nieuwkoop, the instrument was revised in 1993/1994 by Gert van Buuren. De reeds of the Dulciaan and Fagott were renewed. The Flentrop company carried out a restoration in 1996.
- Plans were made in 2018 to replace or expand the organ. Bernhardt Edskes was commissioned to build a partly new organ. Using a part of the two-manual Flaes organ, which has seventeen stops, he designed a new two-manual organ, with thirty stops. The organ case and prospect been restored, was installed on a new basement. The prospect is repainted in white. In the new situation, the console is no longer on the left side of the organ, but in the base cabinet, right under the front. The old organ was played for the last time with Easter 2019.
- The new instrument was built in 2019-2020. The pipe work of thirteen stops of the Flaes organ was re-used, which has been restored and supplemented. Herman den Hollander is involved in the project as an advisor. The organ was put into use on May 15, 2020 with a performance by Dick den Engelsman. Due to the corona crisis, this inauguration could not be attended live, but the play was broadcast via an internet channel.
