Franz Xaver Chrismann built an organ for the Stadtpfarrkirche in Steyr in 1774-1777 with 24 stops. This instrument was replaced in the years 1893-1895 by a new organ by Matthäus Mauracher. This was built under the advice of Anton Bruckner. It had 34 stops. Some of Chrismann's pipework has been taken over. In 1961-1962 Johann Pirchner built a new organ, in which seventeen registers from 1777 were reused. The organ was dedicated on December 16, 1962.
