1891 Pierre Schyven & Cie.  new organ
ca. 1971 Alfons Joris  restoration and enlargement

  • Pierre Schyven built an organ with one manual and attached pedal in 1891 for the church of the Sint-Franciscusinstituut (a girls college) in Melle-Vogelhoek. This church was originally the chapel of Boarding School of the English Sisters. The Franciscan Sisters arrived in Vogelhoek in 1883 and expanded the school into a large institute. The church building became a parish church in 1954 and is dedicated to Our Lady Immaculate. In 2017 the church was closed for services. In 2018, the building was put back into use by the St. Francis Institute. The organ probably remained in the church.
  • The organ was renovated by Alfons Joris around 1971 and expanded with a second manual and an independent pedal. The Trumpet was removed. A Cimbel was to be installed at this location, but this was never carried out.
