Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Deutschland (Rheinland-Pfalz) - Melanchthonkirche, Chororgel
Municipal: Ludwigshafen
Address: Maxstraße 33, 67059, Ludwigshafen

Description nr.: 2072326.

Built by: Oberlinger Orgelbau (1964)

After the Lutherkirche in the center of Ludwigshafen was largely destroyed during the Second World War, it was decided not to rebuild this church. Only the tower and part of the facade are still standing. Not far from the Lutherkirche, an emergency church was erected in 1949, which was given the name Melanchthonkirche. This church is still in use. A small organ with eight stops by Oberlinger was installed in 1964. In 1980 the Weigle company constructed a new main organ.
