- The Sankt Maximinkirche in Pachten was built in gothic revival style in 1890-1893 after a design by Wilhelm Hektor. The organ of the church was built by Hugo Mayer. It took a long period to complete the instrument, that was built in five phases. The first part was dedicated on March 20, 1955, with a recital by Hans Lonnendonker. The organ had electric action with cone chests, one complete manual (II. Manual) with ten stops, and an independent pedal with five stops. In 1958, two stops were installed on the first manual (Principal 8' and Oktave 4'). Two other stops of the first manual (Gemshorn 8' and Quinte 2 2/3') were installed in 1968. At this time the console was installed on a movable platform.
- A first modification of the original concept was in the spring of 1969: the first manual was rebuilt on a new slider chest, and six stops were added to this manual. In 1974 the second manual and pedal were rebuilt on a new slider chest. At the same time the Subbaß 16' was renewed. The organ was completed in 1976 with the installation of the Dulcian 16' and a tremulant on the second manual and the Gedackt 8' on the pedal. On May 30, 1976, the organ was dedicated with a concert by Josef Fisch.
- In 2020, the organ has been restored by Hugo Mayer Orgelbau. The console was renewed with a modern digital system.
