In 1979, Gustav Steinmann built a new organ for the Petruskirche in Steinhude. He used a number of ranks from the previous organ, that were made by Heinrich Schaper in 1853-1854. The organ was restored in 2010 by Jörg Bente. On August 8, 2010, the instrument was inaugurated again, with a concert by Kai Kupschus.
