John Rayson bouwde in 1878 een tweeklaviers orgel voor de kerk van Saint Peter, Hungate in Norwich. Deze kerk werd in 1933 buiten gebruik gesteld, en is daarna verbouwd tot een museum. Het orgel is in 1933, maar mogelijk al eerder, overgeplaatst naar de kerk van Saint Augustine. De firma Hill, Norman & Beard voerde in 1959-1960 een restauratie uit.
