This church was buuilt in 1866-1867 in the burrough of Woolloomooloo on the corner of Anne Street and Bourke Street. The building was dedicated on July 25, 1867.
- The parish of Saint Peter's emerged with the parish of Saint John's in Darlinghurst in 1986. The two buildings were still in use until 1993, when Saint Peter's closed. The church was sold and is part of the Sydney Church of England Girls' Grammar School Darlinghurst (SCEGGS). The pipe organ was sold to the roman catholic church of Saint Finbar in Glenbrook.
- Pitchford & Garside restored the organ and installed it in Glenbrook, where is was dedicated on October 15, 1995. Norman Johnston, the former organist of Saint Peter's Church, played the inauguration concert. The church in Glenbrook is a new church building, that was dedicated on May 7, 1995.
