  • In 1552-1554, Giovanni Battista Facchetti built an organ for the Duomo in Genova. It was placed in the north transept. The richly decorated organ case is decorated with wood carvings by Gaspare Forzani. In 1603 a second organ was built by Giuseppe Vittani. The shutters of the organ were painted in the years 1634-1654 by Giulio Benso. The organs have been modified and adapted several times. In 1890 Camillo Guglielmo Bianchi rebuilt the ensemble.
  • The current organ was built in the years 1932-1936 by Parodi & Marin, organ builders in Genova-Bolzaneto. The three organs of the church (two transept organs and the choir organ) were combined into one four-manual organ with a central console. A part of Bianchi's pipework was reused. In 1967 the organ was repaired from damage sustained during the Second World War. In the years 2003-2005 a restoration was carried out by the Fratelli Marin.
