- The Montreal company Mitchell & Son built a new organ for the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chicago in 1869-1870. The organ case was decorated with carvings and groups of statues by Charles Oliver Dauphin. The organ had 64 stops on completion, three manuals and pedal. The Roosevelt Organ Company carried out an overhaul in 1892, which included the installation of a wind machine.
- In 1923 the organ was rebuilt and expanded by the Tellers-Kent. On May 10, 1923, the organ was put back into use. After this it was completely rebuilt in the years 1948-1950 by the Austin company.
