- De Saint Ignatius Church in San Francisco werd eind negentiende eeuw gebouwd als Jezuïetenkerk. Voor deze kerk was rond 1880 een orgel gebouwd door Hook & Hastings, maar op Eerste Kerstdag 1896 nam men een vierklaviers Hutchings & Votey-orgel met 84 stemmen in gebruik, het grootste orgel aan de westkust van de Verenigde Staten. Dit orgel kon worden gebouwd dankzij een schenking. Bij de ingebruikneming werd het orgel bespeeld door Clarence Eddy.
- Bij de aardbeving op 18 april 1906 ging de oude Saint Ignatius Church geheel verloren. Er is hierna een nieuwe kerk gebouwd op een andere locatie.
