  • In the Sankt Bartholomäus-Kirche in Mörlenbach stands an eighteenth-century organ, built in 1767 by Gottfried Knaut. It was built for the Schlosskapelle in Heidelberg. Originally it was an organ with ten stops, a manual and pedal. When the organ was completed, the castle was largely a ruin, partly as a result of a major fire caused by a lightning strike in 1764. In 1807 the chapel was definitively closed. The organ was then sold to Mörlenbach.
  • The organ was restored by Erich Breitmann in 1971, but it was also expanded with a second keyboard and the pedal has a larger compass since then. Rainer Müller carried out an overhaul in 2010.
  • In the fifties of the twentieth century an attempt was made to buy the organ back for the now restored castle chapel in Heidelberg. This was not successful. A reconstruction of the Knaut organ was then built in this chapel 1982.
