In September 1893 it was announced that the Schlag & Söhne firm had been commissioned to build an organ with twenty stops for a new Roman Catholic church Sankt Laurentiuskirche in Leipzig. This church was built in 1892-1893 and was designed by Hubert Kratz and Josef Meurer. The organ was modified and rebuild in 1938 by the Eule company, in connection with an enlargement of the church building according to a design by Willi Schönfeld. In 1994 it was replaced by a completely new organ from the Jehmlich company.
