  • In 1824, the old church of Rastenberg was destroyed during a major city fire. A new church was built according to a design by Clemens Wenzeslaus Coudray. Johann Friedrich Schulze built the new organ, which was inspected by Johann Gottlob Töpfer in September 1827. The front was also designed by Coudray. Church and organ were put into use at the same time in the autumn of 1827.
  • Hermann Hildebrandt replaced the Octave 2' of the Oberwerk with an Aeoline 8' in 1889. He partially removed the Posaune 16' of the pedal. The original front pipes were removed in 1917, and were later replaced by zinc pipes by Friedrich Wilhelm Böttcher. The Walcker company installed a wind motor in 1935. The organ fell into disrepair after the Second World War and has not been played for many years.
  • The organ was restored by Eule Orgelbau in the years 2019-2023. The original disposition has been reconstructed, the prospect pipes have been renewed in tin based on photographs of the original situation and the entire organ has been technically restored and re-voiced. The organ was put into use again on Friday, May 5, 2023. After the festive church service, Theophil Heinke played the dedication concert.
