2000 Franz Rietzsch  restoration

  • Around 1850, Philipp Furtwängler installed a two-manual organ for the church of Dassel am Solling. The instrument was radically rebuilt in 1949 by Paul Ott. He placed the old Hinterwerk as Brustwerk. The size of the pedal was expanded from C-h° (23 keys) to C-f' (30 keys). Ott made a new prospect with pedal towers and a Brustwerk. The windchests and much of the pipework are still from Furtwängler. Rudolf Utermöhlen was the consultant for the work. Martin Haspelmath carried out a restoration in 1975.
  • Because of the bad condition the organ was in a new restoration was necessary. This was carried out by Franz Rietzsch in 1999-2000. On June 18, 2000, the organ was inaugurated again with a concert by Friedhelm Flamme.
