The Martin-Luther-Kirche in Emden was built in 1958. Alfred Führer placed an organ in the church in 1959. The church had become dilapidated in the early 1980s because the roof of the nave collapsed. After a major restoration of the building, it was ready for use again on the third Sunday of Advent 1984. In 1995, the Von Beckerath firm built a new organ for the church, which was placed on the church floor. The instrument was commissioned on December 3, 1995 during a church service, where Elmar Werner played the organ. In the evening Vera Hermanová gave a concert on the new organ. Advisers on the construction were Elmar Werner, Uwe Droszella and Reinhard Ruge.
