The organ contains older material: Organ case from 1731 by Johann Georg Fischer
The organ of the old monastery church in Sankt Peter im Schwarzwald was originally built in the years 1725-1731 by Johann Georg Fischer. He built a two-manual organ with main work, crown positive and pedal. In 1763-1764 the organ was overhauled and expanded with a Rückpositiv by Joseph Pottier and Blasius Bernauer. Several repairs followed in the course of the nineteenth century. The old work, except for the cases, was demolished in 1879, after which the Walcker firm installed a new romantic organ. This was renovated and expanded in 1935 by the Gebr. Spath. Finally, in 1967, a completely new organ was built behind the historic front by the Klais company. The choir organ from 1964 can also be played from the console of this organ.
