De firma Heintz Orgelbau bouwde in 1986 een nieuw orgel voor de Melanchthonkirche in Mannheim. Adviseurs bij de bouw waren Burkhard Goethe en Gerhard Wagner. Het instrument verving een orgel van Weigle uit 1953/1956.
