In 1979, the Hey company built a new three-manual organ for the Sankt Jakobuskirche in Hünfeld. It was later expanded with two registers. In 2011-2012, Kilian Gottwald carried out a revision. The voicing was revised, but the disposition was also changed. Some registers were swapped, others were added or changed.
