The organ contains older material: Organ case from 1764 by Marcus Hinrich Petersen
Under the advice of Helmut Perl, the Vierdag company built a new organ for the Lutheran Church in Scheeßel in 1971-1973. The organ is placed in the organ case of the previous organ of the church. This case dates from 1764, and was built by Marcus Hinrich Petersen. With the exception of the case, not much of his organ has been preserved. In 1802, it was renovated and rebuilt by Johann Wolfgang Witzmann from Bremen. Johann Hinrich Röver built an almost new organ in the old case in 1881. This was converted in 1934-1935 by Furtwängler & Hammer. The organ was enlarged by them with a new Rückpositiv. The design of the Vierdag organ is based on the work of Petersen. The Rückpositiv has been removed. In 1998 the Hillebrand company carried out an overhaul. They renewed the Trompete 8' of the Hauptwerk.
