The organ contains older material: Organ case and ranks from 1624 by Georg Heinrich Wagner
In 1972 Förster & Nicolaus completed a new organ for the Marienkirche in Lich. It was placed behind the beautiful historic front from 1624-1631, built by Georg Wagner. This organ was largely lost when Förster & Nicolaus placed a new pneumatic instrument behind the facade in 1913. Wagner's pipes still present were used again in the new building of 1972.
