- The history of the organ in the Reformed Church of Grave has been unclear for a long time. Before 1794, the Reformed congregation worshiped in the old Saint Elisabeth Church. In that year, this church was returned to the roman catholic parish by the French government. The organ in the old church was severely damaged during the siege of Grave. This organ was built by Johan Hageman, organ builder in Dinxperlo. Hess mentioned in his disposition overview that it had two manuals with fourteen stops. The old disposition is still readable on back of the organ case. The question is whether it had ever been completed.
- The organ was transferred by Johan Tits from Venray to the old monastery chapel that was now taken in use as a Reformed church. In 1806, Tits built a new organ with only one manual and twelve stops using the old material. The organ was repaired in 1837 by the Franssen brothers and extensively restored in 1846 by P.G. Sneltjes from Cuijk and by A.A. Kuerten from Huissen.
- In 1867 Van Nistelrooy renewed the bellows. A year later, on June 21 1868 the church was struck by lightning. The organ suffered heavy damage. Van Nistelrooy repaired the instrument. Much of the pipework was newly manufactured. The keyboard was originally located at the back of the organ, but Van Nistelrooij placed it on the right side. At the back, the holes of the register drawers with their inscriptions are still present.
- In 1970 the organ was in such poor condition that it was unplayable. Advised by Klaas Bolt, it was restored by the De Graaf company from Leusden. An electric wind supply was installed on this occasion, but the old hand driven bellows remained usable. The restored organ was put back into use on October 12, 1974.
- The organ was restored by the Elbertse & Van Vulpen company in the spring of 2023. The organ was put back into use on June 3, 2023. Consultant was Aart Bergwerff. He also played the inauguration concert.
