- Andreas Butz was commissioned in November 1613 to build an organ for the church of the Franciscan monastery in Bolzano (Bozen). It was placed in the church in 1617-1618. The organ had door, which were painted by Georg Vischer in 1616. According to the contract, the organ had seventeen stops, on two manuals and pedal. The organ was placed on the rood loft between the nave and the choir of the church. It eventually had two facades, facing the choir and the nave, and became larger than the contract indicated. Unfortunately, the final specification is unknown.
- Repairs were carried out by Daniel Herz in 1652 and by Franz Ehinger in 1736. In 1792 the organ was moved by Johann Anton Fuchs jr. to a gallery on the west side of the nave, because the rood screen was being demolished. After this, the instrument remained in use until 1899. However, several changes were made, by Karl Mauracher in 1828-1830, by Joseph Aigner in 1845 and by Josef Sies in 1870.
- Hans Mauracher built a new organ in 1899 in a Gothic-Revival style organ case. This organ was lost due to bombing in 1944. The paintings of two panels of the old organ have been preserved.
