  • Saint Paul's Church in Wokingham was dedicated on 23 July 1864. In 1874 the church was extended with aisles on both sides. The building was designed by Henry Woodyer. Henry Willis built the organ for the new church, with nineteen registers on two manuals and pedal. The organ is located in the northeast side of the church. Originally it faced the nave of the church, but in 1870 Willis turned it a quarter turn, with the front towards the chancel. In the same year a Bourdon 16' was added to the pedal. It was relocated in 1874 after the completion of the side aisles. A new screen was installed, designed by Henry Woodyer. During a revision by Willis in 1921, the pedal was expanded with a Bass Flute 8'.
  • The organ was converted in 1934 by Percy Phipps. The interventions were drastic: pneumatic action, new bellows, adjustments to the organ case and keyboard and a drastic change in the disposition. Much of Willis' original material has been removed. Maintenance was taken over by Hill, Norman & Beard in 1954. In 1994 it was decided to replace the instrument with another nineteenth-century organ, which was in better and more complete condition. This has been done in 1996. The old instrument was dismantled in the summer of 1995, and has been sold in parts.
