Gebaut von: William Hill & Sons (1870)
William Hill built a two-manual organ for the church of Saint Philip with Saint Bartholomew on Saint Philip Square in London-Battersea in 1870. This church was closed in 1992 and then sold to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. Because this congregation does not use an organ, the instrument was sold and transferred to Reading School Chapel. It was restored by Richard Bower and placed in the chapel during the summer holidays of 1993. The organ was officially inaugurated on October 10, 1993 with a concert by Gillian Weir. It was dedicated on October 16, 1993, with a special church service. Michael Howell played the organ during the service.
