The previous organ of Kauhajoen Pääkirkko was built by the Kangasala company. It had forty stops on three manuals and pedal. Plans were made to replace the instrument as early as 1989, but it was not until 2001 that a new organ was ordered from Veikko Virtanen. A final concert was given on the Kangasala organ on December 11, 2003. It was demolished at the end of December.
