In 1828, a Jesuit college was founded in Liège, which was named Collège Saint-Servais in 1834. In 1840, a new school with a boarding facility was built on Rue Saint-Gilles. In 1852, the Église Saint-Joseph was built near the school. The old buildings on Rue Saint-Gilles were demolished in 1977, including the church. The organ in the church has also been demolished. The front has been preserved, it was sold to Christian Vaillant and Philippe Libois. In 2024, this front will be reconstructed and placed in front of the transept organ of the Église Collégiale Saint-Dénis. Until then, this organ had no visible front. This concerns the Merklin organ from 1862 from the conservatory.
