In 1847, J.W. Walker an organ for the Independent Church in Newbury, Berkshire. The instrument had twelve registers. It was transferred to the Lecture Hall at Newbury in 1872, and was sold to the Congregational Church at Theale in 1919. This church from 1913 later became the United Reformed Church. In 1935 the organ was demolished, and a new organ was built in this church by Liddiatt & Sons. Much of Walker's pipework was reused in the construction.
