- Hill, Norman & Beard built a theater organ in 1934 for the Granada Theater in Maidstone in Kent, England. The instrument was designed by Harold Ramsay. The organ was delivered as Christie Unit Organ opus 2911. The organ had eight ranks of pipes, and many effect and percussion stops. The inaugurational concert was played by Alex Taylor. Due to flooding in 1968, the console was irreparably damaged. The organ was subsequently dismantled and put for sale.
- It was sold to the Theater Organ Society of Australia, who had it placed in the new auditorium of Brisbane's Kelvin Grove State College after a restoration in 1973. A gaming table could be acquired from a private individual. It was an original 1929 Christie console of opus 2714 built by the Empire Theater in Dunedin, New Zealand. The organ was officially inaugurated on November 24, 1975 with a concert by Tony Fenelon.
- In 1998 an overhaul was necessary. The work was completed in 2001. The disposition has also been expanded with a Clarinet, an Orchestral Oboe and Solo Strings. Since the instrument has eleven pipe ranks. On April 13, 2001, the organ was opened again.
