An electronic organ had been in use at Christ Church in Worthing since 1951. This could be replaced in 1970 by a second-hand pipe organ. The instrument was built in 1892 by J.J. Binns & Co. for Baillie Street Methodist Church in Rochdale. This church was closed in 1967 and then demolished. The organ came to Worthing through Percy Daniel. Daniel rebuilt the organ with some extensions and a new console in Worthing.
