The Petruskirche in Dessau was built in 1901-1903, and was designed by Gustav Teichmüller. The company Fleischer & Kindermann built the first organ for the church, which was installed in two organ cases on either side of a large round window. Due to war damage, the organ was in poor condition, and it was decided to replace it. In 1952-1955 the current organ was built by the firm Schuster & Sohn. The organ was dedicated on May 23, 1955.
