- The Protestant church in Lachen was rebuilt in 1749-1752. The first organ was installed in 1757. It was a second-hand organ, constructed in 1708 by Johann Michael Kändtel for the Reformierte Kirche in Edenkoben. In 1794 the organ was looted during the French Revolution. Several repairs and rebuilds have been carried out since then. But in 1865 the organ was sold to Johannes Richtscheid, and a completely new organ was built by Eberhard Friedrich Walcker. This was an organ with cone chests and mechanical action. It was dedicated on November 25, 1866.
- The organ was restored by Christian Wengel in 1910. The prospect pipes were removed in 1917. These were later replaced by new zinc pipes. A wind motor was installed in 1926. The almost unaltered organ was adapted to the taste of the time during a renovation by Oberlinger in 1966. Many stops were replaced. Consultant was Heinz Göttsche.
- Because the mechanics showed many malfunctions, it was decided a few years later to have the organ rebuilt. This work was also carried out by Oberlinger in the years 1974-1976. The entire instrument is new, only the organ case and some ranks are from 1866. All new registers from 1966 have also been copied.
